Understanding the basic principles of photography will help you take better pictures and have more fun! If you are new to photography or want to move beyond shooting in automatic mode to gain more control of your pictures, this class is for you. You will learn about the foundations of photography, including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, lenses, depth of field and more! You will also learn how to use composition, light, color, and tonality to create dynamic images. This class will include hands-on shooting opportunities, assignments to inspire you to improve your new skills, analysis and critique by TILT's knowledgeable instructors, and lectures on historical and contemporary artwork. This class is the first step in creating a solid foundation in the medium and taking your images to the next level.

• Vaccination against COVID-19 will be required for anyone 12 years or older participating in onsite classes or visiting the Center. Students and visitors will have to provide proof of their vaccine with their official vaccination card. Please email Education Director, Josh Brilliant, with a photograph of your vaccination card.

• For those who are not vaccinated, we are offering a wide variety of online classes. 
• All onsite staff and teaching artists are vaccinated.
• Masks must be worn at all times while inside the building regardless of vaccination status. Food and drink are not permitted in the classroom and lab.
• Hand-Sanitizer stations are located at each entrance and should be used when entering and exiting the building.
• Reduced capacity in our adult and youth classes.
